January

Aircraft on site as of 18th Jan 2007
Aeromaritime - G-XBCI, N784F , G-BNYD, G-OMDR.

BN - G-BWJW (std), G-BXRR, G-BXRS (maint), G-BYCX, G-BYKJ, G-CBUI, G-CRUM (rb), G-NOTY (std).

FAST - G-BXKL, G-BRRY, G-CECX, G-CHOP, G-JANI, G-JBII, G-OFAS, G-TRAC.

Edmondson - G-USTB (arrived in Dec 2006 for repaint in same black\silver scheme), N877SW (arrived in Dec 2006 for repaint metallic blue\green), G-SBUT (arrived 17/01 for repaint in red & gold).

Field - G-ENHP - though not 100% based, this aircraft is owned & operated by Henry Pelham who owns the airfield, so it's a regular day stopper when the weather allows. Travels in from private site at Chilmark as per G-INFO details.

17th January 2007 - rare and probably first visit of N911DN from it's maintenance facility at Sparkford. (Pictured here on 16/01 at Wolverhampton by Robert Beaver)

19th January 2007 - photo's of based aircraft G-OFAS, G-TRAC & G-TOSH, plus visitor G-OHMS taking on fuel at the pumps.

G-OFAS is the 3rd aircraft from the original fleet of Findon Air Services, hence the registration OFAS. Having more than 6,000 hours & 2 rebuilds under it's belt it is still working hard every day on the FAST training fleet at Thruxton.
G-TRAC - a single owner aircraft from when new in 1999, this has been an on\off resident at Thruxton and now appears to be a recent addition to the FAST fleet.

G-TOSH - although listed on G-INFO as being owned by JT Helicopters of Witney, Oxon. this R22 is almost always based at Thruxton on the training fleet of FAST Helicopters.

G-OHMS - Thruxton is a regular fuel stop & pilot tea break location for pipeline & power survey helicopters with the TAM Schweizers being the more regular visitors, sometimes night stopping & being hangared at Aeromaritime, the WPD Twin Squirrels come in weekly, but as far as I know never night stop.

24th January 2007 - with a light covering of snow the airfield is it's usual mid-winter chilly place, I have never known another spot be quite so predictably cold in winter, the wind just whips across the airfield & when it's coming from the north, nothing in it's path will escape a sub zero wind chill!

Needless to say very little ventured out of the warm hangars except G-SBUT back to Wellesbourne after it's renewed red & gold paint out of Edmondson [I missed it's departure by 20 minutes!], G-BXRS from Bembridge & back, plus G-TOSH doing a limited number of circuits.

31st January 2007 - the last day of the month saw Enstrom 480 G-ENHP (pictured below earlier in 2006) arrive for a day stop with the airfield owner- Henry Pelham. FAST training fleet not particularly busy. January appears to have been a fairly quiet month on the airfield.

Heliboy - your site is what prompted me to do this one for Thruxton!
