Agusta A109 G-ESLH was very active today on the ILS approach to Boscombe Down which overlaps the Thruxton ATZ, so easily visible from the Airfield Tower, I think the 109 is going to be on lease to ETPS for a while & may even take up military serials.
G-SCTA arrived at BN Helicopters first thing this morning for maintenance, should just be here for the day.
JetRanger G-BXKL training on field for an hour or so this morning, I think with the owner at the controls.
Robinson R44 G-JANI sat outside Aeromaritime hangar this AM, not sure if it flew today or not.
Lets hope that the first day of the new month is indicative of the levels of activity we can expect in the next 4 weeks!
12th February 2007 - the usual winter Northwest wind blew today at a steady 15-20 knots, gusting 30+, so anything with Robinson in the manufacturer name didn't take off, leaving brave souls in Bell machines to take to the air.
In the hangars, the usual FAST fleet was safely installed away from the chilly breeze. Bell 407 N120HH is still at Aeromaritime, along with recent maintenance newcomer G-WIIZ which after a change of owner will be based Sandown, Isle of Wight. A more infrequent maintenance visitor was G-BVGA from its base at Southend, it doesn't fly much now after it's owner sold his part in FAST Helicopters. G-BXDS which is a pending change on G-INFO popped in whilst on a pipeline survey with TAMS.
Edmondsons have EC145 G-MPSA being painted yellow & black for the Met Police & should depart this week after a very speedy paint job. AS355F-1 G-VONK is in for repaint into the usual dark blue & gold Von Essen scheme. R44 G-DYCE is expected tommorrow from Heli Air (weather permitting) for repaint in the same green & gold scheme.
BN Helicopters are now working hard on getting Westland Wasp G-CBUI (pictured below on the Military Helicopters\Edmondson ramp in 2006) up & running, it is currently ungoing a permit renewal & should be ground running by the end of week.
On the field whilst I was there visitor G-SPEY took off & headed west.
16th February 2007 - The FAST ramp was busy today with G-TRAC, G-OFAS, G-CECX, G-BXKL & G-TOSH all outside & ready to go for training flights. TAMS pipeline survey Schweizer 269D\333 G-TAMD is here after a night stop, probably departing Monday. Bell 407 N120HH continues it's stay at Thruxton for a spell of maintenance with Aeromaritime (pictured below in 2006).

22nd February 2007 - dismal weather yet again curtailed any significant rotary movement, but still a few items to report. In Aeromaritime G-JETX present for maintenance, G-TAMD on a nightstop & G-ENHP still here.
Edmondsons have G-DYCE, G-VONK & new AS350B3 F-WWXN destined to exit as G-LARR very soon.
BN Helicopters have a very nice sight, a beautifully maintained & 100% correct Westland Wasp HAS.1 G-CBUI, marked as XT420 a lovely sight in the winter sunshine yesterday.
