Heli Air training

Heli Air were training on the field today using their AS355F1 G-PIPB (5261).

An interesting machine, now over 35 years old with more than 7,250 hours, it started out life with the Duke of Westminster registered as G-TALI.

New Bell 407 on field

Nice new Bell 407 G-JGXP (54727) arrived on the field this morning.

Probably linked to Heli Air where one of the instructors is 407 rated.

Bell 206B3 G-TEGS (4622) at Thruxton 30/8, looked to be doing training of some kind. Note this has a HISL fitted, so maybe doing some pipeline work?

Another R22B for HQ transformed.....

R22B G-KKRN (1201) wheeled out of Edmondson's today. This is ex G-DMCD, G-OOLI, G-DMCD, G-LINS and G-WFWS.

I really like the scheme and think it could be re-used with different colour markings... yellow, red, light blue and white etc...

Hughes 500 G-MDDE arrives

Hughes 369E G-MDDE (0563E) arrived this morning and avoided the weather front that came in around lunchtime.

The next National Grid R44II for Helicentre

The next R44II for the National Grid survey contract has been rolled out after being repainted. G-GOES (10942) should depart back to Leicester tomorrow after it's transformation at Edmondson's.

That leaves Hughes 500E N369SY, EC120B G-EIZO, R22B G-KKRN and R44II G-ROMT still here part way through being repainted.

New maintenance visitor

New Guimbal Cabri G2 G-XFYF (1225) normally resident in Devon made the short trip up to Heliwork for a maintenance visit this week.

Bell 206 G-COIN departs after paint

Bell 206 G-COIN (897) departs back to Redhill after another stunning transformation at Edmondson Aviation.

R44II G-OONA

R44II G-OONA rolled out in new livery today, as did new R66 G-SDWV, sadly the latter wasn't wearing any markings, it departed by road back to Denham.

10 years ago....

A blast from the past... September 2008 to be precise. AS350B3 G-CFHE (4536) was brought into UK for completion by Eurocopter UK and it was then exported to New Zealand as ZK-IKJ where it is still operated by Volcanic Air Safaris Ltd. in Rotorua

Yet another EC120 & another is set to follow

Freshly repainted EC120B G-TOOZ (1428) was rolled out today at Edmondsons.

It returned to base at Fairoaks by air this afternoon.

EC120 G-LTZY rolls out

EC120B G-LTZY (1073) [ex G-IBRI, G-OTFL] rolled out from the paintshop today in it's lovely new blue scheme, making it probably one of the best looking EC120's around.

It returned by air to Redhill this afternoon.

A blast from the past.... 1990's?

Bell 222B (47136) marked as 5N-AQQ but registered as N3205T at the time seen on the ramp between Heliwork and the flight school at Thruxton sometime in the mid 1990's? It was for sale with what was then RCR Aviation.

I think the aircraft was eventually used for spares in the US as it was cancelled in 2013.

Bell 206B G-COIN (897) arrived late on Friday afternoon for long overdue repaint with Edmondsons.

A109A N64EA moved on field

Agusta A109A N64EA has now been moved to the open hangars on the field having spent a long time at Heliwork being restored to an airworthy state.

G-OOTT still here

AS350B3 G-OOTT has arrived and is awaiting minor paint repairs.

H130 G-ESET in for minor paint

H130 G-ESET arrived for minor paint today, it has been active with Heli Air on the field for a few days, this is probably linked to a recent owner change and probably type rating related.
