An old Scout

A rare shot of Westland Scout AH.1 G-BXSL (F.9762) taken at Thruxton in late 1998.

This aircraft was on the UK register from 1998 until 2002, it was destroyed in an accident on 19th November 2001 8nm southwest of Cambridge.

Formerly XW799, various sighting of this have been made subsequently in a German museum, painted blue. However, I know this airframe ended up on the fire dump at Thruxton. The sightings in Germany have read XW799 from an inside rear door, I can only assume this was swapped at some stage before being demobbed.
