The 50th anniversary of the first flight of the Gazelle is just around the corner, and to mark the occasion a fly-in has been organised at the home of the British military Gazelle - Middle Wallop on Saturday 8th April 2017. Follow the link below for more details including a list of booked visitors.

The first prototype SA.340 flew for the first time on 7th April 1967, it initially flew with a conventional tail rotor taken from the Alouette II. The tail was replaced in early 1968 with the distinctive fenestron tail on the second prototype. The first production Gazelle conducted its first flight on 6th August 1971.
Still in use today by the AAC, and with a good number of them now in civilian hands based at Bourne Park, it's distinctive fenestron whine can still be heard over the skies of Hampshire on a regular basis.
