Not a helicopter... something better!

I very rarely take photograph's of anything in the aviation world other than helicopters, but this is different.

The first flight of a newly restored Vickers Supermarine Spitfire, taken at Thruxton today.

One of the engineers quipped that the sound wasn't that of an engine, it was music, and it was!

It was an absolutely fantastic priviledge to be there to watch and listen to it take to the skies for the first time in years.
